NeoStrata’s Foaming Glycolic Wash Review

I was sent a 3.4 fl oz bottle of NeoStrata’s Foaming Glycolic Wash to review. My skin is more on the dry side, but, I do have a tendency to get blackheads and a couple of hormonal breakouts on occasion. Now that I am in my late 30s, anti-aging ingredients in my skin care products is a must and this foaming glycolic wash has just that. The foaming glycolic wash is soap free, self-foaming, very lightweight and white in color. It contains 18% glycolic acid and 2% lactobionic acid.

Glycolic acid- a colorless, translucent, crystalline compound, C2H4O3, that occurs in cane sugar, unripe grapes, and sugar beets and has numerous industrial uses, especially in dyeing leather and textiles and in the manufacture of pesticides.

Lactobionic acid- is a sugar acid. It is a disaccharide formed from gluconic acid and galactose. It can be formed by oxidation of lactose. The carboxylate anion of lactobionic acid is known as lactobionate. Lactobionic acid is also used in the cosmetics industry as an antioxidant and in the pharmaceutical industry as an excipient for formulation.

Because it does contain these ingredients, it also lightly exfoliates the skin as well as deeply cleanses it. The glycolic foaming wash has a clinical, but mild fragrance to it and after rinsing your skin; you could no longer smell it. When you lather up the glycolic foaming cleanser between your hands the foams starts to thin out a bit which makes it much easier to rinse of your skin with no residue left behind. After using the wash, my skin felt deeply cleansed, squeaky clean and mildly exfoliated. After a few uses of the wash, I did notice less blackheads on my T-zone areas, smoother skin on my cheeks, and a few of my sun spots dimished. I highly recommend this wash for oilier and acne prone skin types. The ingredients in this wash is also great for those with hyperpigmentation issues and mature skin types since they will lighten spots up and even your tone a bit.
